From a pure supply and demand standpoint, does adding some additional supply to the market via H1B visas impact the price (salaries)? Sure. But we are not paying the H1Bs any less than anyone else. We may be paying EVERYONE *slightly* less because the demand is filled by an H1B vs. having to go out and compete in a market where there is less supply of qualified candidates than there is demand. But I don't think artificially boosting salaries by constraining supply below demand is good policy either. And is certainly not what Donald Trump is referring to with "MAGA"

And again, unemployment for software engineers is 2%, and annual H1Bs comprise 0.06% of the workforce, so you'll have a hard time convincing me H1B visas have a material impact on software developer salaries.
